Over 80 inches of snow. That sounds like a lot, because it is. But Orchard Park, NY managed to accumulate that much in just a few days. To put things into perspective: The average snowfall New York City sees in a year is roughly 27".....that's only in ONE YEAR! They also managed to get 66" of snow in 24 hours: which is a state record!
On this episode of The Weather Lounge, we brought on a long standing client of ours who witnessed this historic Lake Effect event first hand. His name is Jake Shivo from JSP Companies, and he has some interesting stories that he has to tell.

October 29th, 2012: One of the most iconic and destructive Hurricanes makes landfall in NJ. We're talking about Hurricane Sandy. Also known as "Superstorm" Sandy, this Category 1 post tropical cyclone brought hundreds of millions of dollars in damage and over 200 fatalities. On this special episode, we brought back our President and CEO, Frank Lombardo, to talk about everything that led up to that memorable day in weather history.
